So who wants to bet Crunchyroll's going to announce they're simulpubbing a bunch of Yen titles at the end of the month?

I just wish they published some titles I liked. I remeber when they launched their print mag and I was super stoked about being on the ground floor of a manga anthology. But none of the content appealed to me.

Well, the good news is that now the manga volumes might come out faster, like what happened with Viz Media.

Don't see how there can be any good news in this. I seriously doubt any of their manga is going to be coming out any faster.

If they couldn't even support a digital only format, they must have been doing something wrong. Could be the titles they picked or even their own expectations.

I don't know if they couldn't support it, or just saw an opportunity to redesign things to work better. I mean, they tried going all digital in July 2010 when the iPad (and thus modern tablets) were all of 3 months old - their digital anthology magazine was a slightly clumsy web-only affair, and IIRC you had to pay for it via Paypal - no other payment options were available. Compare that to signing up for and reading Shonen Jump through the Viz app on your iPad or other modern tablet - the latter is a much better experience.

This news is just a little scary for the Magazine online formats. I mean they had next to nothing in publishing costs and still could not exist despite the lowered costs of operating?

One would wonder how this will play out for future digital ventures or did someone just sell and retire?
