I've seen all of these except Akira. Loved the other 3, so looking forward to Akira.

I've actually seen all of the films, though I'll be looking forward to rewatching Badland rumbles.

another television anime, Space Dandy.

Isn't that the new show that has not aired yet that is being directed by the same director that directed Cowboy Bebop.

Also, if I'm not mistaken, this means it will be dubbed seeing as Toonami has yet to air a subbed series.

Which leads me to believe that Space Dandy is getting the same treatment as Kurokami. As in, it will be aired in Japanese Dub in Japan and hours/Days later it will air in English dub here.

Someone tell me if I misread something or read too deep in to some aspect of this announcement.

It will be dubbed, yes. But its actually going to air in the US on Toonami BEFORE it airs in Japan.

Majorly excited for this one. AKIRA is one of my all-time favorite movies (and one of the best animated films ever made), and I've been meaning to watch both Summer Wars and Trigun: Badlands Rumble for quite some time now.

AKIRA will definitely be censored, but I wonder if they'll be showing the DVD or BD as far as quality goes. I have to say, I really do like Toonami going this route over just TV series, and I hope films and OVAs become more common.

I wonder what will be changed. Was there any swearing? I recall there were at two different dubs. I don't remember which one I watched, but I recall it still sounding cheesy. The nudity will definitely be gone, but I wonder if they'll still leave the sexual assault scene in there. I assume they'll keep the gore and blood though.

Toonami has done stuff like this long before it was on Adult Swim where from time-to-time, they will air films and even occasional specials in between. Most of the movies though were either based on anime series or weren't anime altogether and maybe that's partly why some people don't remember them as much as the other things Toonami was known for.

Yes! This is awesome, as I've only seen one of these movies (Summer Wars). I'm a bit disappointed there's no Tokyo Godfathers, considering it is the holiday season; but I don't know if the dub to that is easy to get now.
