Wow, nice. Maybe those unconfirmed rumors of a Hollywood version of Death Note could potentially come to fruition.

I just want them to bring over the japanese movies. from the clips I've seen, they're great. Awsome CGI, good acting, well written.

So should I feel ashamed that I have more of an interest in your film than the two DN movies? (Don't take it a brown-nosing, even though I'm not above that. >_>)

Still, I'm kind of curious to possibly check out the two Death Note movies. Regardless of however they're directed or whether the script is decent enough, I'd take anything over the ending to the manga.

The ending to the manga was beautiful. :o But if you didn't like it, then you probably won't like the ending to the two movies either.

Hellkorn: Nah, don't feel ashamed. DN's overrated, but passable entertainment.

Wow, the movies have come to our shores? Is VIZ Media doing the distribution, and will the movies be subbed/dubbed? I've been told that while the movies don't exactly have the best CGI, they're really exciting if the first one is quite corny with the "childhood friend" angle. I know nothing of the second movie.

Also, will someone explain this?

>>English cast:
>>Shigeki Hosokawa as Raye Iwamatsu

No one knows who currently has the rights. For now, it's technically Warner Bros., but I wouldn't be surprised if Viz got them. (Assuming they can negotiate for that Chili Peppers song without losing an arm and a leg,,,)

Death Note movies coming to America. This might be a potential for American distributions. If some hot shot film director sawn that and thought it was a great idea, then most likely it'll happen. Probably might change a lot of it to make it American-ized, but I'm thinking too far into a supposed future. I sawn the movies and I would love to see them again. Hopefully I can make it!

I saw the trailers for the live-action Death Note and, quite frankly... I wasn't impressed...

But, you know... it's trailers, so I can't make any good judgement based on that...

But what I'm saying is: I'm interested, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

(yeah... the visuals felt all clunky and stuff... it's not exactly gonna wow me with its production values, if anything... but, again... it was a trailer)

Oh, and if they ever made an American version, I'd probably like David Fincher to do it since he has neat visuals (was that his name? uhh... dude that did Fight Club)

I didn't want the shitty movies to get brought over here. They are complete crap compared to the manga and anime. They don't follow the manga AT ALL. And if a shinigami kills someone to save someone's life, they DIE. But not in the movies! Rem shows up and is just like "Yeah, Misa, I'll save you.' Oh and by the way, Rem is a GIRL. Something the makers of the movie didn't understand. Usually to make a movie based on something, you have to read it first.
