While I understand why bookstores like to shrinkwrap the more Mature Manga, Today I bought a copy of Innocent Bird from WaldenBooks and when I got it home and unwrapped I found..... The back cover has about an inch tear up the center.
If anyone else has expierenced this... Should I attempt to bring it back within the next couple days and explain the situation to them? Or should I just live with it because they probably won't let me return/exchange it...
Really, I can understand bent edges and such but.. *twitch* Tears.

I'd take it back. I don't see any reason why they wouldn't let you exchange it for a different copy. Just be sure you do it soon and keep the book in good condition until then.

If you are nice about it, most likely they will be too. I've returned volumes before because I was a dope and bought a volume I already had, and they were cool about it.

I would take it back. The worst that can happen is they might say "no". But its worth trying, in any case.

I used to work at Waldenbooks, and I don't see any reason why they wouldn't let you return it. Just bring your receipt with you and I'm sure they'll have no problem with it.

Just call in advance and explain your situatuion. Then be sure to get the name of the person you talked to, so if they give you problems at the store you can be like, "But I talked to _____ and they said it wouldn't be a problem."

Now, I'm not saying Torhu is wrong or that this happened at Waldenbooks (as I've never been to a Waldenbooks), but just because you can say "Well, Brent said it wouldn't be a problem." doesn't mean that Brent was right or that they'd honor an error from their employee.
However, the sooner you notify them/return damaged items, the more credible you seem, so calling may be a pretty good idea.

Thank You, Thank You.
I found their number and called them, They are ordering me a new copy and will call when it gets in. Just have to bring the damaged copy and receipt to the store when they call and... Exchange.
If there's shrink wrap on the next copy, It's coming off before I trade.

I suppose you should take it back. It's odd that it'd be damaged even though it was wrapped.
I'm glad they're ordering you a new copy.
