There's a boxset coming out for Gits 1st gig, which yall probably already know about. Also, Gits 2nd gig has a tin collector's edition for sale only at play.com. It holds the Special Edition Vol's all in one tin case. This is news to me, hence the post.

Yes it is a us relese. Might I add that it is also about time, too. I will be first in line to start collecting this show, when it is relesed in my home town! I love Gits:SAC.

I was glad to hear they were finally releasing the series in boxes lots of other regions already have the first season box out. It makes the series more widely afordable and lot of people wait for the sets instead of going by volume. I however collected the series as it was released and got the special editions for the volume 7s of each season which come with the tins to hold all the other volumes.

The DTS tin is available at all locations that carried the previous DTS editions. I received mine last week. It also comes with yet another cheap toy.

I'm a bit puzzled at how the base is positioned with the Major since it doesn't seem to lock in place and I threw out the picture that was slapped onto the tin. In any case it is about as lame as the two identical maids that came in previous editions. The Tachikoma toys are fun (do we really need three of them?) but the other toys seem like a waste of money. The mousepad, playing cards and ID cards also seem like throw away extras to me. I would gladly spend $35 for a DTS edition without silly trinkits.

The tin itself is nice and huge. The window is a great idea since you can choose any of the seven images to be displayed. The DVDs slide snuggly into place so the won't rattle aruond. I don't understand what the ribbon is for. The only thing that comes to mind is it is there to help get the DVDs out, which seems a bit silly. The tin is the best extra in the DTS set.

EDIT: I just clicked on the links and noticed that this was for the PAL editions. The tin looks identical to the R1 tin. I attempted to slide a standard DVD into the case and it fit well enough, but had enough room to not stay in place like the R! tins it was designed for. I can't believe they say the Tachikoima toys are rare, since the DTS GITS comes with three of them that have trivial differences. The shirt doesn't look anywhere as good as the wonderful double sided shirts that come in the R1 set. I guess I have a love/hate relation with the R1 extras. £7.99 Delivered is a great price for a non frills edition DTS GITS.

Well for us region 1 people we get the first season boxed on DVD October 10th. The tin for season 2 that you posted looks very simmiliar to ours only the cover art on the individual volume is different and our volume 7 comes with the last soundtrack CD and a Kusanagi figure instead.

Interesting, most likely going to pick up this set unless there is a chance for a thinkpack of the series? Does Manga Entertainment ever release thinkpacks?

However it did lack the DTS discs, so it has its cons as well.

[OT] I'd like to thank TK for editing my title. It makes the thread more clear and concise. Also, if I knew how I would change the URL's into links. If someone would like to tell me how do this or point me to a thread that has the directions, it would be most appreciated.

For your specific question, see Linking to another site, but you might just want to start at the top of that page to get overview of the different kinds of formating you can do to a message Smile

Thanks patch. I figured it out, it was very easy. I can't believe I didn't learn this sooner!
