Huh, so they ARE making a second season. I know the guy who announced it is pretty high up but I have to wonder if he was actually authorized to talk about this since it seems like Japan was saving the announcement for until after the all-night event in September. ^^;;

Oh wow. The end of the first season didn't just leave room for a sequel, it practically invited one. (That said, it didn't leave any loose ends either.) But I never thought the show would actually get a sequel, that is surprising. Pleasantly surprising. Akane became a badarse at the end of season one, can't wait to see her crack some skulls in season two.
Given that the sequel is still being written, I'd say Spring 2014 is when we can expect it to start airing.

I wonder if Yayoi will get much more needed exposure. Having her partner up with that new female recruit would make a nice analogue from the 1st season.

This surprising. I thought the first series did fairly well finishing up the story it was trying to tell so I wasn't expecting another season. Hope the writing team is the same.

Excellent! I think it was clear from the ending of the original series that they were gunning for a sequel, and I'll be looking forward to it!

This is incredible! I'm definitely interested to see how the second season will be handled. There are still some questions to answer.

Hells yes I'm so ready!
Loved the show.
Edit: They should get this on Toonami.

Neat. The first season worked as a whole but another season could definitely work too.

Well I'm happy about this. I really enjoyed the first season, even though it kept the characters at a little too much of an emotional distance.
I am a bit worried though about how the absence of Makishima will affect the quality of the second season, as he was easily the best part of the series.

Wohoo, this is awesome! I was really hoping for a second season since I can see where they can continue to expand the show and think it could be great (plus, considering how they spent the entire show developing Akane and showing her grow up I was sad we didn't have much time to see how she thinks and reacts at the end).

This show was literally one of the worst things I've ever seen in my life. It was ugly, misogynistic, poorly-paced, lame-brained and ripped off everything from "Ghost in the Shell" to "Minority Report." Honestly, I have no idea how it's getting a second season. Good for the people who liked it, I guess, but seriously? There are more shows deserving of a second season than this.

Whoa, dude, don't come here and bash the show. We, the fans of the show, are happy about the news. We don't need you or your opinion.
In another news, I'm pumped for the second season. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out again. |
