So I just purchased the Anime Legends to a series I have been wanting to see for a very long time, and at $35 I had no problem spending my money on it.
I knew about the replacement program before I bought it but figured I would take a chance... and it didn't go good. Discs 2,3, and 6 do not even play. I contacted Bandai Ent. and was told to send all the DVDs "just in case", instead of just sending the defective ones. Has anyone gone through the Bandai Ent. replacement program? I have to admit that I'm worried about doing it because if the DVD's get "lost in the mail", I'm out $35 and whatever it's going to cost me to mail the 8 DVDs. And what if there is something wrong with these DVDs too? Will I still be able to return them to Best Buy? Well just wondering if anyone has done it and actually gotten their discs that work. Maybe if someone, or even better a couple of people, tell me they've gone through this with succession, it will really help me decide on going through w/ the replacement. |

I've gone through their program once. I purchased the Anime Legends Escaflowne movie set and my movie DVD would lock up and the audio would get all wierd about halfway through. I contacted them and sent in my DVD and had my replacement back within a week.

One would think that will all the problems that seem to be with this first release, that they would recall ALL of the packages from the stores and replace them with ones that work.
But it's probably cheaper for them to wait and let us contact them then it is for them to contact the warehouses/stores. |

Thanks Keonyn, now I atleast I know there is someone who's been through the program.
I can't find the Best Buy receipt, so I HAVE to do this. It's a risk, but oh well. I want my Escaflowne. I've been wanting to watch it since it aired on FOX Kids and I had no idea it was even anime. I think that it's not only cheaper to leave the defective discs in the stores, but don't forget all the people who will buy this, and not go through the product replacement. Specially the people who buy items at specialty stores such as local comic book stores and various other anime shops. Or maybe I'm not making any sense... |

Boy, it's kind of a shame that this release isn't available anymore (unless you hit eBay or Amazon and manage not to get a bootleg), as it had all the discs + the movie, and I didn't have any problems playing it.

I didn't like the case for that, and other similar releases, though. If one thing broke, which was not hard to do, the discs would fall out when you opened it. |
