Finally, funny how good wii games are released once the system is dead lol. I know you can play on wiiU but still. Now I hope they do a reprint of xenoblade cause I didn't get a chance to buy it

Guess we're 3/3 now with "Operation Rainfall"
Though if given the choice I'd rather have the people behind Xenoblade bring this over than XSeed. Their localization of Last Story was highly questionable, while Xenoblade's was fantastic.
I don't see why when they release a game that had to get a fan movement to be released in the US they decide to make it a Gamestop exclusive, thereby limiting the amount of people who can get it. It's like they wanted it to fail or be hard to get or something. It the only time in years I went to Gamestop to get it. I should go back to see if they have any more copies, since it'll no doubt have a high resell value on eBay in a few years. |

Dun, Dun, Duuuuun!
I'm glad this "final" game is coming to Wii in the states. I have own both Xenoblade: Chronics and The Last Story, so I may pre-order this game when the release date (specific one) is announced. 
Oh, and I hope the cover case will be black just like those released in Europe and Japan. |

I honestly don't understand how anyone can call Operation Rainfall a success because had those games not come out in the UK/AUS in English then they would have never had made it to America. The fact is the hard work of the English translation had already been done. Its now just simply a reprint and a different region coded disc isn't it? This is of course me assuming Operation Rainfall began before the trio were announced for UK/AUS. If it was after they were announced for those territories then i retract the original statement. |

Yeah, it definitely was, which is precisely what made the whole situation so absurd. It would have been one thing if Nintendo refused to release them anywhere in English. But to go to the trouble of localizing them for Europe only to turn around and refuse to put them out in North America was just mind boggling. |

Operation Rainfall began when it was announced that Xenoblade was not at E3 2011 because it was not coming over to America despite getting an english release in Europe. Soon after both Last Story and Pandora's Tower got announced in Europe but were not announced in America. As for the success of Operation Rainfall, both Xenoblade and Last Story sold very well with Last Story being the most successful release XSeed has ever had. If the fans tell people to buy a game, then people are going to buy that game. |

The translation for all three games is from Nintendo of Europe. XSEED just packaged it basically. |

Depends on how you look at it. I don't think the campaign did much to sway Nintendo of America, who still believes that the games are too niche to be worthwhile. However, the buzz convinced XSEED to jump in (and even then, XSEED's marketing staff were opposed to the idea, making it a controversial decision within the company).
Different parts of the company want different things. Nintendo of Europe was interested in the games from the start, plus the development teams worked with worldwide releases in mind. However, Nintendo of America only wants products with broad appeal. Satisfying only 100,000-200,000 people (they aim for millions of copies sold, and in the case of the Wii, the casual gamer was their target) is irrelevant to them, rendering the games a waste of shelf space. |

This will be a nice swan song for the wii. I got Last Story and managed to get a copy of Xenoblade (which is pretty hard to find right now), so hopefully I'll be able to get a copy of this as well.

If you have any used game stores in your area, check them--I'd given up hope on getting it since I buy a lot of my games through Amazon and Amazon's prices were rising steadily, but a friend of mine got Xenoblade for my birthday for about $20 at Gamestop. |
