Certain commercial industries use it, which may help police figure how where this person likely works.

if they are a college student all they would have to do is walk into a chemistry lab to get it in a lot of cases. the security for the chemicals is really bad in many cases (had to take a lot of chem labs).

Aum Shinrikyo anyone.

They made homemade Sarin and other toxic gases and used them on public targets.

They probably are the first terrorist (religious cult) group to actually use WMD on civilian targets. One could say, they made fiction into reality.

So if they could make nerve agents and other poisonous gases, anybody can.

Someone seriously can't do chemistry. Hydrogen Sulphide or H2S is the gas that you smell in thermal pools, ie that 'rotten egg' smell. There is no way that an envelope of white powder contains H2S as it is a gas after all. It could have contained Sodium Sulphide which will release some H2S if you add it to an acid solution.

BTW .. H2S can be toxic but you basically need to fill a room with it.

It's deadly enough to charge this idiot with attempted murder.
Good enough for me.

I know it's a popular series, but I'm surprised that anyone cared enough about Kuroko's Basketball to try and kill the Manga-ka. That just seems bizarre.

It is impossible that 'Hydrogen Sulphide' was sent (unless it was in a cylinder), so the title of the article is incorrect.

I remember a test in HS Chemistry. If a certain element was present on filter paper it would turn brown and the whole room would smell like rotten eggs for the rest of the class period.

H2S is easy enough to make on your own, it was a notorious Japanese suicide method at one point. There are plenty of recipes on the internet if one wanted to get them.

The article said a liquid was sent so possibly it was a container of reactant agents, though this seems a little far fetched still. Even if this was the case I doubt anyone would hang around after getting a whiff... it stinks like bad eggs.

Honestly, I am not a fan of this series. Is it really that good or really that bad, so someone would kill anyone related to the show?

If you'll re-read the article, you'll notice that one of the targets, the college, was sent a LIQUID. Hydrogen-sulphide does come in a liquid form. Other places were sent a powder, in one case the powder was identified as possibly being barium.
