hmm pretty nice list gia, I just ordered Kurogane Communication collection from crunchy roll's deal of the day so eh I know what to expect now.
I would however like to give a mention for ushio from clannad, this is just a personal preference on my end.

Yeah, poor Kenji is pretty much screwed regardless of if you talk about the anime or the manga. The manga doesn't go into details about his future in the actual chapters, but Watsuki provides a nice author's note that paints him out to be a pretty big jerk in his future.

Kenji Kenshin? Are you implying you think the titular character's name is "Rurouni Kenshin" and not Kenshin Himura?

Oh wow, I actually totally missed that mistake in the article. I guess my brain auto-corrected it in my head.

Shinpachi is on the top of list! How can that be? We should be tormenting him, not praising him, people. Isn't that the joke?

Going by the title, I figured I'd see Ushio from Clannad, since she kinda dies and all but I guess it wasn't supposed to be that kind of doomed.
As for the poll, the giant mech thing is all win-win as far as I can tell. You just don't have to be a spineless, nutless coward like Shinji and Gendo would be pretty easy to ignore most of the time. Still, I went with being all knowing with the option of extorting people to share said knowledge. That sounds much more profitable and more in tune with my personality than squishing people with my mech.

Dang, the poll this time is really hard! Read the first option (fire with motion sickness) and thought to myself "anything has to be better than that combination". Then read the other options. First option is looking pretty good now! Definitely wouldn't want to be brainwashed to be loyal to some dude, so that option's out, and my garage definitely wouldn't fit a giant mech so not that one either. Picking one not on the list, I'd probably choose Saiyan powers with the weakness being when the tail is grabbed you go limp.

Hey if you think Kenji has it hard, her mother also ends with the same disease from Kenshin, so it looks as if he will be an orphan considering that no doctors were able to heal such unknown disease. Way to make a sad ending...

Hey, when it comes to unfortunate anime babies, then Gohan should be on the list, just look at how screw up his life: fighting strongest fighters in the universe when he was four up to adulthood. Not to mention how bitchy Chi-chi and how irresponsible Goku were.
Oh and look at the next poll, Goku might have a spot there, exceptional martial artist, strong enough to destroy a planet and has a deadly fear of needles.

Nice list Gia. I was familiar with every anime on here except Kurogane Communications and Dragon Ball GT. It was a well put together list, I thought. I know there was a spoiler warning, but I did not expect Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood to be on here, and accidentily spoiled myself. I didn't read the description though. By the way, who is that man carrying Bra? Like I said I'm unfamiliar with DBGT.
As for the poll this week, i went with Ryoga. Not only is he one of my favorite characters, but hey being good at martial arts, even if you have a bad sense of direction doesn't sound that bad.

Wait who is Shinpachi, the teenager or the glasses? I voted for the glasses that are always repaired.

In regards to the poll, since I already have near-crippling motion sickness on any vehicle, I think I'll nudge it over the edge to crippling and get me some fire powers.
Also, I'd add (BIG SPOILERS for the final episode of Legend of the Galactic Heroes)Alexander Siegfried von Lohengramm, whose father dies when he's just a baby, leaving him heir of a galactic empire that rules over almost all humanity with his mother as regent. What's more, his father's words said that if he's not worthy, then they should let the dynasty die, which puts huge pressure on him to achieve for the rest of his life. And to top it off, since the disease that killed his father at 25 was congenital, who knows whether or not it's been passed on? Hopefully if they have a warning this time they'll be able to catch it and save his life.... Of course, on the plus side, his potential doom could mean a return to democracy for the human race. As is common in LotGH, you find yourself sympathetic to both sides.
(Edit for typo)

I can't really tell either. Now that I think of it, I don't think they ever made it clear which one it was.

Poll choice is obvious, as it doesn't have a drawback. I mean, know everything and have others pay me for the privilege of hearing my pearls of wisdom? Yes please!

Manga wise when you consider how his parents were in their teens it's not surprising he'd end up being a defiant entitled teenager. I'm sure Yahiko will knock some sense into him at some point.
