Huh? 4Kids wants to attract "younger" audiences? As if their edited version of the original series didn't target low enough...?

Generation Next and the last bit of info I saw on GX it was only 10 years after the main story.

Or not.

Welll, it's funny because they had originally announced this starting in 2006. And I thought that would have been too long. So looks like they want to get this in for the "kiddies" soon. Will I be in for more "hammy" voice acting? Laughing Laughing

And I just bought my nephew some 'Yu-gi-Oh' starter decks.
Just means more money to the card franchise.

It is now just saying "a generation into the future".

A generation is equal to 30 years.

Because 4Kids is run by flaming morons.

You know, when they released the set of crappy Americanized names, I had half a mind to see about assembling a group to fansub GX.

...And not like TV-Nihon's crappy-beyond-compare work on the first series. I'd create a fansub that wouldn't require a Japanese dictionary on hand to enjoy...

...that were pulled in favor of a failing product (the edited DVDs).

With the name changes they're giving this series (Chumley Huffington?!), I doubt they want to attract fans of the original.

Oh yeah, hi Yusuke.

Wouldn't it make more sense to wait until the original series ends to release this new one? Because YGO GX is patently horrible, and the only way I can imagine anyone would watch it is if they had no alternative and were looking for something to replace a concluded Yugioh series. Which I'm guessing is the only reason anyone watches it in Japan.

Even now 4Kids is throwing darts at a chart to determine which character will get which ridiculous accent.

OK, now I know you're lying. No one would think of a name so stupid.

*checks it*

. . . And just when you think they can't get more creative. I wonder if I can get my 6 year old nephew to work for 4Kids...

The original series did end - in 1998! Wink Despite what we are accustom to watching on Kids' WB, Duel Monsters is NOT the original Yu-Gi-Oh! series. The original series was created by Toei and aired in Japan back in 1998. (It ran from April 4 to October 10.) Duel Monsters is the second series that's animated by Studio Gallop/NAS, and it's this series that started the phenom that we are witnessing today. Duel Monsters started its TV run in Japan on April 14, 2000, and ended on September 29, 2004.

Back in February of this year, there was a thread that stated that the first season of Yu-Gi-Oh should have been separate from the second series, Duel Monsters. It has since been approved (and in turn resulted in Michi being an official member of the Encyclopedia staff - congrats to her! Very Happy ). Check this threadto learn more about the two different series; there's also links to the official websites of the two completely different series.

Yeah, he does.

I bet 4Kids edits him out of the episode to make it seem like they know what they're talking about. Very Happy
