Wow, those are both gorgeous. I've considered reading the Kimi ni Todoke manga for awhile but never got around to it, but I am rather tempted to blind buy the set. I've never even heard of Katanagatari, but the packaging alone has intrigued me.

Do they make non-premium editions? Because I want Katanagatari but I don't want all that extra stuff. Plus I hear the cases are big and I'm worried about it not being able to fit on my shelves.

The regular versions come out sometime after the Premium editions are released.

I loved Katanagatari and thought it was the second best show of last year. I told myself I wasn't going to buy it, though, because of NIS America's awful over-sized packaging. Or I'll wait until they release their regular edition sets. However, after looking at these pictures, I changed my mind. I'm going to bite the bullet and preorder. I absolutely cannot resist. Yeah, thanks a lot, WTK. I BLAME YOU!!!

Kimi ni Todoke, however, can be released in a paper bag for all I care and I'll happily buy it.

Already put in my pre-order for Kimi ni Todoke. Lol @ it being rated "7+", too. I mean, that's saying something to have zero objectionable content.

Very tempted to blind-buy Kimi ni Todoke. Besides the fact that I'll likely love the series anyway (99.9% of the series I watch I either like or love enough to buy the DVD sets), the packaging and extras are so cute.

These are the first NIS releases I need to buy, I think.

It seems there'll be a lot of new must-haves for me in the coming year. Very Happy

Yeah. Doesn't mean it's intelligible to a 7 year old, though. The Rumiko Takahashi Anthology was 7+, and was full of stories about parents in financial straits planning family murder-suicides, the tensions of modern apartment living, bullying within the family structure, the loneliness of today's wage-slave,...

Haha yeah, I've never seen that show, but I definitely wanna check it out now. It sounds...intriguing, and definitely not for 7-year-olds.

And yeah, I'm pretty sure a 7-year-old would be scarred with all the problems making friends and not understanding their own emotions.

Beautiful or not, NISA will not be seeing my money for a $52 sub-only 6-episode set.

This makes me want to buy Katanagatari now, it will be my first NIS purchase. Seeing that the runtime is 308 min, the episodes count does not bother me.

They haven't publicly say that this is their policy. It can be assumed or to some it just a matter of time.

The earlier releases (like Toradora!) seemed to have a bigger run in comparison to Wagnaria!! Both series are the first two to offer standard releases, but it didn't take Wagnaria!! very long to sell out the premium releases. Earlier series like Persona and Our Home's Fox Deity don't have standard releases yet.

It's unclear how they will handle the BD/DVD combo packs. But it's probably safe to say that they probably found their print run number for the premium releases.
