Hi Guys, I was wondering of the future of
anime 10 years from now would look like.
I feel like anime has a promising future....
More 3D graphics like the Vandread series?
or adapting to other cultures?

In ten years, anime will be straight data that is beamed directly into our brains, just like how our modems bring the internet into our computers (only better). Duh.
...And we'll also have the flying cars that Popular Mechanics said we'd definitely have by 1986.

the anime of the future will be completely shounen ai. no more boring boy-girl things going on, just some pure boy's love at least, i would be happy if it was ^_~
i don;t know about 10 years from now, but i imagine anime will continue to take on a more and more universal, asexual appeal (mainstream anime that is) and unfortunately hand-drawn cels will probably be practiced only by Ghilbi.
goshdarnit, where IS my flying car?!

Sarcasm aside, I think collaborative projects like The Animatrix will probably be the "future" of anime. Japanese and American creators combining efforts to make anime for an international audience seems more and more likely as anime continues to increase in popularity here.

I'd say that I agree with the "collaboration" theory. Especially considering that it's happening right now. Animatrix is the headliner, but we also have Reign the Conquerer. A full TV series devised and drawn by an American, but animated and realised by the Japanese (namely the good folks at Madhouse). There are those who cry "media rape" when they hear that anime might come from different sources than Japan, but I'd say Reign is fair proof that it can.
But what I also see in the future is a broader exploration of ideas. We can't say that every thought and possible story ever dreamed up has been animated, but it seems that way quite a bit these days. However, with new markets opening up, and new generations of writers and artists, we'll be sure to see some fresh looks at old standards. Plus I'm thinking that as animation becomes incresingly high budget (it's getting to the point where you have to be Madhouse, or Studio Pierrot, or Pioneer AIC to create something that impresses in any way) that smaller studios will try more adventurous routes to draw attention, such as new methods of storytelling, new character, mecha, and scenery design, and new color palettes and shading methods.
So long as there are people willing to try new ideas, anime will keep growing as a media of expression, art, and entertainment.

Dear God, I hope not.
*Ahem* Anyway, I would like to see a decent racing anime (prefferably street racing). Although maybe Intial D will be good, so that might not be necessary, but I'm still unsure.
Oh, and Bandai, no more Gundam series, okay?

Saturn, keep an eye out for my forthcoming ANN forum slash fanfic magnum opus, featuring every male poster on this board, to be posted on this board right around the time M. D. Geist III comes out.
Anyway, the future of anime is more tons of slick and non-slick repetitive genre sludge with the occasional really good bit. Just like it's always been.

Retro. Pure retro. A return to hand inked cels, high cell/frame counts, and funky old character designs..
