Ah, Salaryman Kintaro. I remember when ArtsMagic released the entire anime series on DVD over here... And then quietly died about a year or two later. I should really watch those DVDs. I saw the first DVD years ago and liked what I saw, but I should really just start from the beginning again.

Anyway, interesting piece on cellphone manga, and I'm looking forward to Part 2. It kind of makes me think about how some companies in Japan, like Toei, actually offer their animes on some cell phones. It would be interesting if that was the next step after they get the hang of doing manga well enough.

There is also a live action film called in the US release:

White Collar Worker Kintaro

Directed by Takashi Miike, it takes one arc of the story and does a rather good adaptation, tho' it helps to know a little bit about the characters.

Thanks for pointing this service out! I had no idea Salaryman Kintaro was available in English. I'm not the biggest fan of iPhone manga, or reading comics on the iPhone in general, but I had no idea that a service like this existed. It does strike me as a tad on the expensive side, but I'm going to pick up at least a little Salaryman Kintaro anyway.

And man, do they have some other weird, random stuff available. I may dip into a few more things too, just to try them out.
