I had a friend recommend this series, and I tried to watch the first episode and got bored within the first fifteen minutes. I started fast forwarding the episode through the school days parts to see if it would get more interesting-it didn't. After it was over I just gave up on the series despite his protests.
I'm glad to see my initial skepticism seemed to be accurate.

Yep, pretty bang-on review. Bizarrely though, this is a title I'm still potentially interested in buying even though I don't quite know why.

Likewise, I'm interested in seeing the title as well, I think the strengths will impress me more over getting annoyed by the weaknesses. Just a hunch I have.

Just to be clear, doctordoom85, I have already watched the series on CR...
...AND I may still may buy it. That's the weird part. I found it generally decent, but I am questioning my potentially need to own it and thus re-watch it. I don't always understand all my purchasing impulses...

Theron's review is on the money. I was pretty bored throughout. There was so much posturing I ended up not liking any of the characters and even though the ending was decent it didn't make up for the whole of the series blandness. Pretty pictures with no susbstance.

This series was an important part of my transition from watching completed series, with reviews and such to warn about such things to watching simulcasts on Crunchyroll ~ watching this through to the end is what taught me to drop a series when it clearly signals that its not going anywhere of much interest.

Wow, this really got licensed?
Cause it was bad. I mean, it was interesting at first but it just got worse
You know you screwed up when the Bad End alternate future episode was more entertaining than anything else before

Ah, I see. If it's still on Crunchyroll, I might check it out before deciding to commit to a purchase or not.

I just finished re-watching this on Crunchyroll, and it deserved better than a C- score. A B at least.
But I'm not buying the DVDs until Sentai wises up and goes back and dubs it. And they should cast Greg Ayres as Kakeru.

Don't waste your cash, bro. The show is crap, and you know it.

Art got a B-. The only good thing about it is the art and the OVA. The music was pretty decent, too, but just made it worse because the characters were impossible to be taken seriously (considering that the music had a serious tone).
It's like a guy telling jokes with a horror background music.

Agreed. Everyone is too negative! It had so much going for it! It was just that last episode. Instead of piecing everything together, they threw it in the blender.
Well, I'm buying the DVD. No doubt.
