This is one of those series that really fell apart at the final moments due to a poorly conceived anime original ending (episode 20 is the diverging point from the manga plotline). If you feel that I have underrated this series then please go pick up a copy of the manga and you will quickly find yourself disillusioned with this show. |

One of the most overrated shows in recent memory. Yes, the story was unique. Yes, the plot was well orchestrated and creatively complex. However, this show ran out of steam shortly following the conclusion of the "L" story arch and it began to feel more like a chore to watch it trudge toward the end. Ultimately if someone asks me was it a good show I will definitely respond with an enthusiastic "Yes!", but it is a FAR FAR cry from the masterpiece rating that so many others have awarded it. |

You simply have to watch this series to appreciate it for what it is, a little bit of everything all rolled into one incredibly entertaining package and MORE! |

This installment offers a higher level quality of animation and a much more intense and compacted storyline than the first part of the series. The characters we have seen develop over the course of FMP and Fumoffu show themselves to be fully three dimensional in TSR and the comedic relief that offered us breathing room in the first 2 installment is almost completely absent in this one. Everything in this 12 episode continuation is pure, raw, and it will keep you glued to the edge of your seat. After watching TSR I had to sit down and re-evaluate my entire opinion of the series as a whole (in a positive way). |

Have you ever wondered what a Miyazaki film would look like if it was made into a 26 episode series? Well if you ever have, then you MUST see this series. For me, most Miyazaki films fail to reach perfection because the amount of story and character development you can fit into a 2 hour film is so limited. However, for this series that is not a problem as every character is fully fleshed out and shows development throughout the 26 episode run. And did I mention how beautifully animated this show is? But honestly that's something I've come to expect from Production I.G. over my years of watching the series they've produced. If I have anything negative at all to say about this series it would be with two character design aspects that I found sometimes so overly pronounced that they reached the point of being visually annoying: Toya's buckteeth and Balsa's Angelina sized lips. |
