Roguelike RPG Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island for Nintendo Switch™ Plus Pack Season Pass Paid DLC Part 1 Available Now

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (September 10, 2024) - Spike Chunsoft, Inc. today announced the Part 1 of the Plus Pack season pass paid DLC for Roguelike RPG Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island for Nintendo Switch™ is available now. The Plus Pack includes new playable characters and 10 new dungeons.

The Plus Pack will be released in two parts: Part 1 is available now, and Part 2 will be released on October 31, 2024.

Plus Pack MSRP: $14.99 (includes both Part 1 and Part 2; Part 1 and Part 2 cannot be purchased individually)

About Plus Pack Part 1
1. Koppa appears as a playable character
In the Sacred Tree mode, you'll be able to select Koppa as a new playable character. Koppa cannot inflict damage with attacks but he moves at double speed. Since Koppa cannot equip any gear, you'll advance through the dungeon using special abilities like Burrow and Frantic Fart, which consume Fullness. In Part 2, you'll get Asuka. Additional details to be announced.

Koppa A ferret who travels together with Shiren. He is a "talking ferret" that understands human language.

Special Abilities
Burrow - Consumes 10 Fullness
Frantic Fart - Consumes 15 Fullness
Dig & Escape - Consumes 15 Fullness
Flee - Consumes 100 Fullness

*Koppa can be used in the Sacred Tree trials after unlocking Tatsumi Shiren and progressing through the story.

2. Five New Dungeons in Part 1
There will be a total of 10 new dungeons: five in Part 1 and five in Part 2. In Part 1 of the Plus Pack, you'll find dungeons such as Forest of Frugality, where your items are swapped with each floor you move to, and Peachy Trap Domain, where utilizing traps and transforming into monsters is essential. In Part 2 of the Plus Pack, we'll introduce a high-difficulty dungeon called Soul of Serpentcoil Island, which surpasses the game's most difficult dungeon, Heart of Serpentcoil Island.

*The new dungeons become playable following the completion of Serpentcoil Island and progressing through the story.

Forest of Frugality
A dungeon where all your items are swapped every time you move to a new floor. With hardly any items lying around, you'll need to rely solely on the ones provided to you.

Researcher's Experimental Site
A classic dungeon inspired by Fay's Final Puzzle from Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer.

Winding Valley
A dungeon where you start at level 99, but your level decreases with each floor. You won't gain any experience points from defeating enemies.

Clash of Weapons and Shields
A dungeon where most of the items found are weapons and shields. This is the only new dungeon where you can bring items with you.

Peachy Trap Domain
A dungeon where utilizing traps and transforming into monsters is crucial. You start with the Trapper's Bracelet and the Peach Staff as your initial equipment.

After receiving a vision of a mysterious girl held captive by a terrible monster, Shiren and Koppa make their way to Serpentcoil Island—a distant isle rumored to be the lost stronghold of treasure-hoarding pirates.

Shiren the Wanderer series of roguelike RPG games began with the 1995 release of Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer for the Super Famicom in Japan. Players venture into a "Mystery Dungeon" that changes each time they enter. To succeed, they need to rely on their wits, experience, and creative thinking to overcome monsters, avoid perilous traps, and conquer the dungeon. Players who run out of energy during their journey will lose all of their possessions including items, money, and gear, and must start again at level one.
