The Japanese Folktales Series has a total of six stories, and Japanese Folktales Series 4 to 6 will become available soon.
Princess Kaguya: This is said to be the oldest Japanese narrative. It tells the story of a mysterious princess named Kaguya, who came from the Moon. The story begins with an old couple finding a baby inside a shining bamboo stalk!
Issunboushi: This tale is about an old couple who lived alone, and how the old woman desperately wished for a child. One day, a tiny baby boy was born to the old couple. The baby grew up to be a fine young man, but he was only the size of an adult's fingertip...
Urashima Tarō: This is one of the most famous Japanese folktales. Taro Urashima is a fisherman who was given the opportunity to visit an underwater palace for rescuing a turtle being harassed by children on the beach.
