Real Tokyo Rock Takes Center Stage, as VAMPS Ventures to America!
The "VAMPS LIVE 2009 U.S. Tour " will take America by storm! The tour begins on July 11, 2009
at The Fillmore in New York City and will steam its way to the West Coast with three and a
half weeks of radical rock and roll! The coast-to-coast tour covers ten cities, includes two
titanic appearances on the WARPED TOUR, and culminates in a cacophony of chords at
The Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles on August 1, 2009.
VAMPS is the musical brainchild of L'Arc~en~Ciel front man HYDE and Oblivion Dust's guitar
virtuoso K.A.Z. The two began collaborating in 2003 and their efforts resulted in the creation
of VAMPS; arguably the most-anticipated band to come out of Japan in years. Their debut
single, “LOVE ADDICT”, was released on July 2, 2008 and rocked the charts. In 2008, VAMPS
played 46 live shows in 6 cities on the strength of their debut single alone!
After the release of their third single, VAMPS announced a June 10, 2009 release date for
their first album; “VAMPS”. HYDE and K.A.Z's outstanding charisma and the unprecedented
popularity of VAMPS led to an invitation to perform in the "2009 Summer Rock Summit"
taking place in Taiwan August 11 – 12, 2009.
