ADV ANNOUNCES SEPTEMBER 13 RELEASES
HOUSTON, July 22, 2005—ADV Films, the number one producer-distributor of anime in North America, is pleased to announce brand new installments of three hit series as well as a classic anime compilation, all set to hit the streets on September 13: the third volume in the hit comedy Full Metal Panic? FUMOFFU, the seventh and final volume of the samurai epic Peacemaker, and the second chapter in the high-flying fighter jet series Area 88, plus the low priced thin-pack Rune Soldier: Complete Collection.
FULL METAL PANIC? FUMOFFU: FULL METAL FERVOR!
“Incredibly Funny, Strong Cast Of Characters, Wonderful Visuals” – Anime News Network
ADV is pleased to announce the DVD release of Full Metal Panic? FUMOFFU: Full Metal Fervor!, the third installment in the FUMOFFU series, in stores September 13.
Full Metal Panic? FUMOFFU is only the latest face of the Full Metal franchise, which includes the original prose novel, two successful manga series, and the first hit anime series ADV Films brought to America in 2003. But whereas the first Full Metal Panic! anime series was a sci-fi drama with bits of comedy mixed in, this new series doesn't even pretend to be serious! Featuring more explosions, more high school drama, and a batch of hilarious new characters, FUMOFFU really is a whole new Panic!
Directed by Kouichi Chigara (Gate Keepers, Phantom Quest Corps), Full Metal Panic? FUMOFFU reintroduces anime's favorite odd couple: the popular (if fiery) Kaname, and Sosuke, the teenaged commando sworn to protect her – from high school? Sosuke has a little trouble telling friend from foe, but you can count on Kaname to set him straight! FUMOFFU features loads of slapstick humor, leavened by romantic misunderstandings and the occasional round of gunfire.
Synopsis: Bring it on! Sport is war. At least, that's the attitude Sousuke takes when he and Kaname get enlisted to help Jindai High's flagging, pacifist rugby team. Against Kaname's will, Sousuke decides to bring the spineless squad up to speed with a little over-the-top, all-out-hilarious “basic training.” And while school may be in session for Sousuke and Kaname, vacation has just started for Tessa. Her destination: Jindai High…and a nearby hot spring! Mao and Kurz are there to provide backup for Tessa, but it may be Sousuke who needs it! Tessa has her sights set on him, and nothing – not even Kaname – is gonna stop her! Sports, skirmishes, slapstick, and skin – it's all here in the third pulse-pounding volume of Full Metal Panic? FUMOFFU!
Full Metal Panic? FUMOFFU: Full Metal Fervor! (SRP $29.98 DVD) is a DVD-only release including episodes seven through nine, presented in both English 5.1 and Japanese 2.0 with English subtitles. Video extras include character artwork, the original Japanese DVD Promo, and a new installment in the “Mysteries of FUMOFFU,” plus clean opening animation, clean closing animation, and previews of upcoming ADV Films releases.

AREA 88: A LONELY CROSSING OF PATHS
Second Volume In Jet Fighter Anime Series
ADV Films is pleased to announce the September 13 release of Area 88: A Lonely Crossing of Paths. This is the second volume in the high-flying anime series, which features meticulously rendered fighter planes and realistic dogfights that will keep you on the edge of your seat!
First broadcast on Japanese television a little over a year ago, Area 88 is based on the classic manga by Kaoru Shintani with a screenplay by Hiroshi Onogi (RahXephon, Macross Zero). It tells the story of Shin Kazama, an ace pilot on the verge of a comfortable life with a commercial airline. Tricked into joining a motley crew of mercenary fighter pilots, Shin's only way out is to complete the three year term or pay $1.5 million to break the contract. Truly innovative animation and heart-pounding suspense transport you to a world where every breath could be your last. At Area 88, there's no such thing as a normal day.
Synopsis: In every life there comes a moment when skill is pushed to the limit, when the only thing that stands in the path of death is the strength of the spirit and the shEar will to survive. Out numbered and overpowered, Shin is forced to ditch his plane and parachute into the barren, unforgiving desert where he is haunted by memories of his past as he struggles to survive. Back on base a new pilot is turning heads, and she… yes, she… has the skill of an ace and the beauty to match. But Shin is oblivious to her obvious advances as he impatiently waits for his new plane to arrive. Amid thoughts of the life, and love, he left behind, Shin is confronted with the face of the friend who took it all away, and in the last place he would expect it, in the cockpit of the 747 barreling toward him through the clouds.
