LONG BEACH, Calif. ?EThe action-packed thriller about a powerful android and his human partner who battle the mob will let loose into North America when Pioneer Entertainment releases Heatguy-J: Super Android on DVD July 29- only seven months after the hit series premiered on Japanese television! Created and directed by Kazuki Akane (Esacaflowne, Geneshaft), Heatguy-J offers sizzling action and drama aimed squarely at teenagers and older viewers. This sci-fi series also features striking character designs by Nobuteru Yukki (Esacaflowne, X: The Movie) and a superior blend of 2D and 3D animation by the animation studio Satelight (Arjuna, Geneshaft). The two-disc Heatguy-J: Super Android Collector's Box features two discs, the first containing the first four thrilling episodes of the Heatguy-J series presented in anamorphic widescreen. The second bonus disc is fully loaded with bonus material including staff interviews, conceptual art, commercials, opening and ending animation, and more. The Collector's Box set is available for $39.98. A single disc DVD featuring the Heatguy-J: Super Android episodes is also available for $29.98 and the Heatguy-J soundtrack will be released on August 5 by Pioneer Entertainment.
Synopsis:
Android J was secretly built by the government to be the partner of special agent Daisuke Aurora and to combat crime in the oceanic city-nation of Judoh. While J initially appears to be human, the illusion quickly disappears in clouds of scorching steam when he fights. The most dangerous criminals will soon find themselves on the run from the underground legend known as the Heat Guy!
