Haikyu!! Manga Enters Final Arc
posted on by Alex Mateo
Haruichi Furudate's Haikyu!! manga entered its final arc in this year's 48th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine on Monday.
The manga took a break in the 47th issue of Weekly Shonen Jump magazine last Monday so the author could perform research. The chapter in the magazine's 46th issue had stated that the manga was entering a new arc, with the story moving to "the other side of the Earth."
Furudate launched the original manga in 2011, and Shueisha will publish the manga's 40th volume on November 1. Viz Media is publishing the manga digitally and in print, and is now publishing the manga simultaneously with its Japanese release digitally.
Production I.G's first television anime adaptation of Furudate's volleyball manga premiered in April 2014. The second season of the anime premiered in October 2015, and the third season premiered in October 2016. Haikyu!! To The Top, the anime's fourth season, will premiere in January 2020 in the Super Animeism timeslot on MBS.
The manga has also inspired a series of stage plays, a clay-animated short, and several video anime.
