This year's 46th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine revealed on Saturday that Haruichi Furudate's Haikyu!! manga will take a one-week break next week so the author can perform research. The chapter in the 46th issue also stated on Saturday that the manga is entering a new arc, with the story moving to "the other side of the Earth." The manga will return in the 48th issue on October 28.
Furudate launched the original manga in 2011. Viz Media is publishing the manga digitally and in print.
Production I.G's first television anime adaptation of Furudate's volleyball manga premiered in April 2014. The second season of the anime premiered in October 2015, and the third season premiered in October 2016. Haikyu!! To The Top, the anime's fourth season, will premiere in January 2020 in the Super Animeism timeslot on MBS.
The manga has also inspired a series of stage plays, a clay-animated short, and several video anime.
