Shueisha Launches Young Jump Battle Magazine Supplement
posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
This week's 44th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump magazine revealed on Thursday that Shueisha will launch a new supplement to the magazine named Young Jump Battle on October 15. The supplement will focus on the "battle" manga genre, and the first issue will include five one-shots.
The first one-shot is a Tiger & Bunny one-shot by writer Erika Yoshida and artist Hiroshi Ueda, the duo behind the Tiger & Bunny: The Comic manga (pictured at right). The magazine issue will also include a pinup for the franchise.
Terraformars' Yū Sasuga and Kenichi Tachibana are creating the second one-shot based on a storyboard that Sasuga drew before publishing Terraformars. The one-shot's story will center on a dystopian society centered on elderly people.
Toshimitsu Matsubara (Rikudō) is providing the third one-shot titled "Duelant," which will be set in the European Middle Ages. Shinnosuke Kanazawa (Kunoichi no Ichi!) is providing the fourth one-shot, a "school infiltration spy action battle" manga. Asa Kayagasaki (Tamata) is providing storyboards for the fifth one-shot with a "food battle" story, and Kōichi Kōzuki is providing art.
