Happy Sugar Life Horror Manga Ends in June
posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
The June issue of Square Enix's Gangan Joker magazine revealed on Wednesday that Tomiyaki Kagisora's Happy Sugar Life manga will end in the magazine's next issue on June 22. The manga will have a color opening page in the next issue, which will also put the manga on its cover. The manga's ninth and 10th volumes will ship simultaneously on July 22.
Yen Press licensed the manga, and it describes the story:
Satou Matsuzaka doesn't seem to care about much, moving through boys and casting them aside like so used candy wrappers. All that changes, though, when she meets Shio. The little girl changes everything for Matsuzaka. Is this love...? If it is, then it's love through a very warped prism as the high schooler demonstrates there's no atrocity beyond her when it comes to protecting the object of her deranged affection.
Kagisora launched the manga in Gangan Joker in 2015, and Square Enix published the manga's eighth compiled book volume last June. Yen Press released the manga's first volume on Tuesday. The manga inspired a television anime adaptation that premiered last July. Amazon Prime Video streamed the anime as it aired in Japan.
Kagisora's other series include the manga adaptation of the Tari Tari anime, Kamiyome, and Fantasista Doll ~Prelude Kagami~.
