Square Enix began streaming its second "image video" for the Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 3 Professional Nintendo 3DS game on Monday. The video previews that game's world as the protagonist enters a new area.
The game is based on the earlier Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 3 game, but will contain a new and original story that will feature the appearance of many characters from the Dragon Quest Monsters Joker series. The game will also feature original monsters, and it will allow players to transfer their saved games from Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 3 to the new game to retain the monsters they have collected.
The role-playing game will ship in Japan on February 9 in both a physical and digital release, and it will retail at 5,250 yen (about US$51). Square Enix announced the game at Tokyo Game Show and began streaming its first "image video" in September.
The original Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 3 game shipped on March 24 for the Nintendo 3DS. The game features a silver-haired protagonist and a "mysterious being" called Nochōra. The story takes place in a "cyber" world with advanced science, and the device the main character wears on his ears is called a "reactor."
Like previous games in the series, Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 3 has designs by Akira Toriyama.
