posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Square Enix announced during the Tokyo Game Show event on Sunday that it is developing the Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 3 Professional Nintendo 3DS game, and will release the game on February 9. Square Enix is streaming an "image video" for the game.
The game is based on the earlier Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 3 game, but will contain a new and original story that will feature the appearance of many characters from the Dragon Quest Monsters Joker series. The game will also feature original monsters, and will allow players to transfer their saved games from Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 3 to the new game to retain the monsters they have collected.
The game will have both a physical and digital release, and will cost 5,250 yen (about US$51).
The original Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 3 game shipped on March 24 for the Nintendo 3DS. The game features a silver-haired protagonist and a "mysterious being" called Nochōra. The story takes place in a "cyber" world with advanced science, and the device the main character wears on his ears is called a "reactor."
Like previous games in the series, Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 3 has designs by Akira Toriyama.
