Erementar Gerad: Flag of Bluesky Put on Indefinite Hiatus Due to Author's Glaucoma

The editorial department for the Comic Avarus free manga website announced on Monday that manga creator Mayumi Azuma's Erementar Gerad: Ao no Senki (Erementar Gerad: Flag of Bluesky) and Amadeus Code manga series will be put on indefinite hiatus due to the author's health.
The announcement noted that Azuma had been suffering from glaucoma before in the past, and it has caused such problems to her eyesight that it has become extremely difficult for her to complete her work. Azuma is taking the hiatus in order to focus on her recovery. The department also offered their prayers for Azuma, and asked fans to please understand the decision.
The new chapter of Flag of Bluesky was first scheduled to be published on December 17, but was announced to be delayed till January 17 when the website updated the day of scheduled publication. The website later updated in January, writing that the new chapter was now scheduled for March.
Erementar Gerad: Flag of Bluesky revolves around Princess Ashea, whose life is turned upside down when her father, King Singa, is killed by a raid on the Fwajall imperial palace by a force from "Edel Garden." Without a home, Ashea is forced to wander the continent with her retainer Poofe, her late father's Edel Raid, Jin, a swindling woman named Melfond, and later, an Edel Raid hunter Wolxe and his Edel Raid Tilel. Ashea is forced to not only think of taking back her country, but also about whether she is truly as fit for the job as her father, and discern what is truth from falsehood, friendship from betrayal.
Azuma began the manga as a spin-off to her Elemental Gelade (Erementar Gerad) manga in 2003 in Mag Garden's Monthly Comic Blade magazine, and moved to the Comic Avarus online manga website after Comic Blade ceased publication last year.
Tokyopop licensed the original Elemental Gelade manga, and released 12 of the 18 volumes in North America before ceasing operations in 2011. Digital Manga Inc. has once again licensed Elemental Gelade, as well as its spin-off. Mag Garden shipped the eighth compiled volume of the manga in Japan in October 2013.
Azuma began serializing a new manga in January titled Amadeus Code alongside Tatsurō Nakanishi in its replacement magazine, Monthly Comic Garden.
