Takeshi Obata Will Hold Signing at New York Kinokuniya Book Store

The New York Super Week schedule announced that manga artist Takeshi Obata will appear at Japanese bookstore Kinokuniya in New York City for a manga signing on October 10, during the weekend of New York Comic Con. Attendees will need to purchase one of Obata's works to receive a signed shikishi signboard.
Obata collaborated with writers on various manga, including Death Note, Bakuman., Hikaru no Go, and Ral Ω Grad. Viz Media published all four manga titles in North America, as well as the Death Note anime, the live-action Death Note films, and the Hikaru no Go anime. Media Blasters released part of the Bakuman. anime.
Obata drew the manga adaptation of Hiroshi Sakurazaka's All You Need Is Kill novel for Young Jump magazine this January. The novel inspired the American Edge of Tomorrow film which opened this June. He is collaborating with writer NisiOisin (Monogatari Series, Medaka Box, Katanagatari), and manga creator Akihisa Ikeda (Rosario + Vampire) on two Manga ONE-shot stories for Shueisha's Jump Square magazine.
New York Comic Con announced that Obata will appear at the October 8-10 convention for two panels and a signing on October 9. Obata will also appear for a New York Super Week signing event on October 11 at the Tribeca Barnes & Noble. New York Super Week is run by ReedPOP and sponsored by Weekly Shonen Jump and The Japan Foundation.
