Funimation to Release Last 2 Hellsing Ultimate Volumes in Fall
posted on by Egan Loo
North American anime distributor Funimation confirmed at its Anime Central panel on Saturday that it will release the last two volumes of the Hellsing Ultimate original video anime series this Fall. Funimation gave a synopsis of the series finale:
Coming this Fall, prepare yourself for the epic conclusion to one of anime's most brutal and action-packed series of all time. All hell has broken loose, as The Major and his Millennium Organization wreck havoc on downtown London. With Alucard and Alexander battling it out to the death, only Seras and Integra can stop this mad man from laying waste to the rest of the world.
The third and final season was animated by the studios Graphinica and Kelmadick, including the final 67-minute volume that debuted in Japan in 2012. (Satelight and Madhouse had previously animated Hellsing Ultimate, and GONZO animated the 2001-2002 Hellsing television anime series.) Funimation already licensed Volume XIII, the first volume in the anime's final arc.
Geneon Entertainment (USA) Inc. once distributed both Hellsing anime projects, but Funimation Entertainment announced in 2010 that it would be distributing them. Funimation released the first eight volumes of Hellsing Ultimate in two sets.
