Funimation to Stream Maken-Ki! Two Anime

FUNimation Entertainment announced on Wednesday that it will stream the Maken-Ki! Two television anime series. Funimation added that it will announce more details about simulcast dates and times at a later date.
A new team of staff are producing the anime, with Hiraku Kaneko (The Qwaser of Stigmata) directing the television anime at Xebec. Akio Takami (Shaman King) is designing the characters, and Yousuke Kuroda (first Maken-Ki! Battling Venus anime) is writing the scripts. The voice actress group sweet ARMS is performing the opening theme song "Cherish."
Hiromitsu Takeda's original manga revolves around Takeru Ōyama, a boy enrolled in an elite school where the girls (and boys) fight with mysterious items called Maken. The student body includes the enigmatic girl Kodama, a girl named Inaho who calls herself Takeru's fiancée, and his childhood friend Haruko.
The manga already inspired a television anime series in 2011, as well as two original anime DVDs. Funimation released the first television series on DVD and Blu-ray last month.
The second season will premiere on Japanese television on January 15.
