Hanabee Acquires Oreshura
posted on by Jon Hayward
The announcement was made at Sunday's Hanabee Surprise Screening during Brisbane's Supanova Pop Culture Expo 2013.
Oreshura
Oreshura follows Eita Kidō as he enters high school. Eita is determined to graduate with excellent grades and move onto medical school and shuns anything to do with romance and love. This changes when school beauty Masuzu Natsukawa approaches him with a plan, Masuzu is sick and tired of dealing with confessions from the other boys so she suggests Eita and herself become a 'fake' couple. While Eita initially declines the idea Masuzu blackmails him to accepting the relationship, this would be fine if it stopped there but Eita's childhood friend Chiwa Harusaki soon decides that she can't accept the relationship without a fight.
Based on Yūji Yūji's "Ore no Kanojo to Osananajimi ga Shuraba Sugiru" (My Girlfriend and Childhood Friend Fight Too Much) comedic light novels with illustration by LLO (Unbreakable Machine-Doll, Mushi-Uta) the seven novels to date have been published by SoftBank Creative under their GA Bunko imprint since Feburary 2011.
Kanta Kamei (Bunny Drop, Tales of Vesperia ~The First Strike~) directed the anime adaptation at A-1 Pictures. Tatsuhiko Urahata (Natsu-iro Kiseki, Saki, Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere) wrote the series scripts and Mai Otsuka (Shakugan no Shana, Hanamaru Kindergarten, Astarotte's Toy) adapted LLO's original character designs. Masatomo Ota (Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, B Gata H Kei - Yamada’s First Time, Carnival Phantasm theme songs) composed the music. The series was originally broadcast Japan from Janurary 2013 and has been screened on Crunchyroll and has since been picked up by Aniplex USA for release in North America.
