Latest in Sonic the Hedgehog game franchise is action adventure platformer
Nintendo President Satoru Iwata announced during Friday's live-streamed Nintendo Direct presentation that Sega will release Sonic: Lost World exclusively on the Nintendo Wii U and 3DS systems. The latest game in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise is a brand-new action adventure platformer and the result of a worldwide partnership between Sega and Nintendo. Nintendo will reveal more details before next month's E3 event.
The game was first revealed through a trademark filing by Sega earlier this week in Europe.

Update: Nintendo revealed in the Japanese version of the presentation that the name is tentative and the projected release date is this fall.
