Gaku's Ishizuka Starts Blue Giant Manga About Jazz

New series by Manga Taisho award winner to run in Big Comic magazine
The newest manga series by Gaku - Minna no Yama author Shinichi Ishizuka will begin in this year's 10th issue of Shogakugan's Big Comic magazine on May 10. The preview for the new BLUE GIANT manga reveals that its theme will be jazz music. This is Ishizuka's first work since his Gaku mountain-climbing manga ended year last June.
In 2008, Gaku was awarded the first ever Manga Taisho award, and in 2009, it received the 54th Shogakukan Manga Award under the "General" category. A live-action film adaptation of the manga starring Shun Oguri also debuted in 2011.
