'Strike the Blood' Vampire Novels by Asura Cryin's Mikumo Get Anime
posted on by Egan Loo
The "Game no Dengeki Kanshasai 2013 & Dengeki Bunko: Haru no Saiten 2013" event announced on Sunday that an anime adaptation of Gakuto Mikumo's Strike the Blood light novel series has been green-lit. The event also announced that the Golden Time light novel series was also getting an anime adaptation.
The school action fantasy story of Strike the Blood revolves around Kojō Akatsuki, a boy deemed the world's most powerful vampire (once thought to only exist in legend and lore), and Yukina Hirameki, a girl entrusted with watching over the vampire and if needed, hunting him down.
Mikumo launched the novel series in 2011, and ASCII Media Works released the sixth volume last month. Manyako illustrated the novel volumes, and TATE has been serializing a manga adaptation in ASCII Media Works' Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh magazine since last August. Mikumo's Asura Cryin' and The Mystic Archives of Dantalian light novels also inspired anime.

Update: Mainichi Shimbun's Mantan Web site reports that the anime will debut this year. Thanks, Juhachi.
