Date A Live Anime's Origami Tobiichi Promo Streamed

posted on by Egan Loo
Anime of Kōshi Tachibana's light novel to premiere this month online

The third character promotional video for the Date A Live television anime aired in Japan on Wednesday. The video features the classmate Origami Tobiichi, voiced by Misuzu Togashi.

The first promotional video, which aired two weeks ago, featured Tohka Yatogami (Marina Inoue). Future character videos will feature Yoshino (Iori Nomizu), Kurumi Tokisaki (Asami Sanada) and "all characters."

The anime is an adaptation of Kōshi Tachibana's Date A Live light novel series. In the story, a boy named Sido (Shidō) Itsuka meets a spirit girl who has been rejected by a devastated world. The girl, who Sido names "Tohka," happens to have wiped out much of humanity 30 years ago, and now she is back. The only way to stop her is to date her.

Keitaro Motonaga (Getbackers, Jormungand) is directing the anime at AIC PLUS+ with visual director Hisashi Saito (Haganai, Heaven's Lost Property). Hideki Shirane (Hayate the Combat Butler, Queen's Blade: Rebellion) is charge of the series scripts, and Takaaki Suzuki (Strike Witches, Last Exile) is advising on the world setting, as he has done other anime and manga. Satoshi Ishino (Excel Saga, Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu) is designing the characters based on Tsunako's original novel illustrations. Mika Akitaka (Martian Successor Nadesico, Galaxy Fraulein Yuna) is designing the mecha, and Go Sakabe (Gosick theme songs) is scoring the soundtrack with sound director Yasunori Ebina (A Certain Magical Index, Naruto) at Nippon Columbia.

Other cast members include Nobunaga Shimazaki, Kaori Sadohara, Misato, and Aya Endō.

The anime will stream in March before it premieres on television in April.

Update: Embedded official video from Kadokawa.
