posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Ryōhei Suzuki (live-action Gatchaman, Mei-chan no Shitsuji, Hana-Kimi, Yankee-kun to Megane-chan) is starring in a live-action film adaptation of Keishuu Andou's Ultimate!! Hentai Kamen gag manga. Actor Shun Oguri suggested the idea of a live-action film, and Oguri will collaborate on the film's script.
Suzuki will star as Kyōsuke Shikijō, a kenpo club member who accidentally has a pair of women's underwear land on his face while saving a girl from bullies. The underwear gives him the ability of using the entire potential of his body. Fumika Shimizu (Kamen Rider Fourze) will costar as Aiko Himeno, the only daughter of the Himeno Group business conglomerate.
Yūichi Fukuda (I'll Give It My All... Tomorrow, One Pound Gospel, Saru Lock, The 3-Mei-sama: Anime wa Anime de Arissho!) will direct the HK Hentai Kamen film, which is scheduled to open on April 13. The rock band Man With A Mission will perform the film's theme song "Emotions."
Andou's six-volume manga ran in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from 1992-1993.
In November, the project was teased when a trailer was shown before some showings of the Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo film that featured a man standing on a rooftop at night wearing only fishnet stockings, skimpy underwear, and women's underwear as a mask on his face. At the end of the 15-second teaser, the letters "HK" were displayed on screen. The teaser video featured both live-action and CG footage.
Sankei Sports is currently hosting two other screenshots from the film.
Update: Comic Natalie is currently streaming a trailer for the film, which features Man With A Mission's theme song. Note: The below video may not be safe for work.
