Buronson & Ryoichi Ikegami End Soul Lord 2 Manga
posted on by Sarah Nelkin
The Soul Lord 2 manga with story by Buronson and art by Ryōichi Ikegami ended on Friday in 2013's third issue of Shogakukan's Big Comics Superior magazine.
The original Lord historical manga, which takes place in the age of the Three Kingdoms in China, began serializing in 2004, and ended in 2011 at 22 compiled volumes. Soul Lord 2 took the original manga's place in the magazine, and the second manga run currently has two volumes compiled. The final volume — the 25th volume in the combined series — is scheduled to be released on March 29.
Viz, Dark Horse, ComicsOne, and Marvel published several of Ikegami's previous works in North America, including Crying Freeman, Mai the Psychic Girl, Samurai Crusader, Sanctuary, Strain, Wounded Man - The White Haired Demon, and Ikegami's re-imagining of Marvel's Spider-Man. Gutsoon! Entertainment, Viz, and Dark Horse also published part of Buronson's Fist of the North Star, Fist of the Blue Sky, Japan, and King of Wolves.
