Mappa & Niigata City's Komachi to Dangorō Anime Streamed

Chobits designer Abe directs short of city mascots with Yuuka Nanri, Iori Nomizu, Yoko Ishida

MangAnime Navi Niigata, a portal site for manga/anime fans from Niigata City, began streaming the Komachi to Dangorō ~Lagoon Stone o Sagase!~ (Komachi and Dangorō: Find the Lagoon Stone!) anime from the studio MAPPA (Kids on the Slope) on Thursday. The project animates the city's publicity mascot characters, Komachi Hanano and Dangorō Sasa, as they search for the mysterious stone that was stolen after it had fallen from the skies.

MangAnime Navi Niigata also began streaming the full audio of this Niigata City Anime Project's theme song "Akane no Sora ni" by Yoko Ishida:

Niigata Prefecture native Hisashi Abe (Chobits, Gunslinger Girl, Devil May Cry) directed the anime and designed the characters, and Madhouse co-founder Masao Maruyama produced the project. Yuuka Nanri voices Komachi, while Iori Nomizu voices Dangorō.

The anime first premiered at Gata Fes, the Niigata anime/manga festival, this past weekend.
