KyoAni's Chūnibyō Demo Koi Ga Shitai #1 Previewed in Video
posted on by Egan Loo
The anime studio Kyoto Animation (KyoAni) began streaming the preview for the first episode of the Chūnibyō demo Koi ga Shitai! television anime series on Monday.
The anime adapts of Torako's romance comedy light novel series of the same name. The story follows a high school freshman named Yūta Togashi (Jun Fukuyama) was once a "chūnibyō patient," a teenager with delusions of grandeur. He wants to bury this embarrassing past and begins a new life in high school — or tries to. His classmate Rikka Takanashi (Maaya Uchida), a "current" chūnibyō patient, has forced Togashi into "making a contract" with her.
Tatsuya Ishihara (Air, Clannad) is directing the series, and Jukki Hanada (Rozen Maiden, Campione!) is editing the scripts. Kazumi Ikeda (Clannad, Kanon) is designing the characters and overseeing the animation. Ishihara personally storyboarded the first episode for episode director Eisaku Kawanami and animation director Kayo Hikiyama, while Hanada wrote its script.
The anime will premiere in Japan on Wednesday, and Sentai Filmworks licensed the anime in North America for digital release soon and for a home video release in 2013.
