Sentai Filmworks Adds KyoAni's Chūnibyō Demo Koi Ga Shitai
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
North American anime licensing company Sentai Filmworks announced on Sunday that it acquired Kyoto Animation's (KyoAni's) Chūnibyō demo Koi ga Shitai! anime series. The 12-episode anime will be available soon through select digital outlets with a home video release to follow in 2013.
The anime adapts of Torako's romance comedy light novel series of the same name. The story follows a high school freshman named Yūta Togashi was once a "chūnibyō patient," a teenager with delusions of grandeur. He wants to bury this embarrassing past and begins a new life in high school — unsuccessfully. His classmate Rikka Takanashi, a "current" chūnibyō patient, has forced Togashi into "making a contract" with her.
Tatsuya Ishihara (Air, Clannad) is directing the series, and Jukki Hanada (Rozen Maiden, Campione!) is editing the scripts. Kazumi Ikeda (Clannad, Kanon) is designing the characters and overseeing the animation.
The anime will premiere in Japan on Wednesday.
