posted on by Sarah Nelkin
New manga is her 1st series since Kekkaishi's end in 2011
This year's 44th issue of Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine is announcing on Wednesday that Kekkaishi manga creator Yellow Tanabe will be launching a new manga series. The new manga will be her first series in one and a half years. The magazine will provide more details “soon.”
Yellow Tanabe began serializing Kekkaishi in Shonen Sunday in 2003 and ended it after eight years in 2011. An anime version aired in Japan from 2006 to 2008. Viz Media licensed both the manga and anime for North American distribution, with the anime running on Cartoon Network's sibling Adult Swim.
