Jewelpet Twinkle BD-Box to Include New Anime Episode

The official Twitter account for the Jewelpet Twinkle DVD-Box release confirmed on Thursday that there will also be a Blu-ray Box with a new anime episode. In addition to the 52 episodes from the original 2010 magical girl television series (via a high-definition conversion from standard-definition masters), the box will have an all-new episode, about 20 minutes long.
The original staff is returning for the new anime, including director Takashi Yamamoto (A Dark Rabbit Has Seven Lives), head writer Michiru Shimada (Shugo Chara!), "rarerare" designer Yukiko Ibe (Nanatsuiro Drops), and pet designer Tomoko Miyakawa (Onegai My Melody).
The Blu-ray Box will also have the complete soundtrack on CD, including previously unreleased background music. The tentatively titled Twinkle Illustations booklet will have the illustrations produced to promote the anime. Finally, buyers can have their names and birthdays listed in the end credits of the new anime episode, if they wish. The box is priced at 79,800 yen (about US$1,000, shipping included).
