posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
The official website for the live-action film adaptation of Kuniko Nose's Soul of Rock gag comedy manga began streaming a trailer for the film on Monday. The film will premiere at Tokyo's Auditorium Shibuya theater on February 11.
The original manga's story centers on the three members of an unpopular rock band named "Bamiyans." Shueisha's Seventeen magazine fashion model MAYUKO Arisue will star as the band's vocalist Reika. The D-Boys male acting group member Tetsuya Makita will play the Bamiyans guitarist Taku, and Kamen Rider OOO's Asaya Kimijima will play the drummer zaki. The comedian Dandy Sakano and actor Kouta Kusano (Tomie) will fill the secondary roles of the bar owner and the eccentric punk rocker Yuda, respectively.
Shodensha's monthly Feel Young magazine serialized Nose's Soul of Rock manga in 2008.
