Un-Go Episode:0 to Run in Theaters Instead of on TV
posted on by Egan Loo
The official website for the Un-Go television anime series announced on Thursday that "Un-Go episode:0 Inga-ron" (Un-Go episode:0 Inga chapter) will run in 12 Japanese theaters for two weeks only, starting on November 19. The 45-minute original story will not air on television.
According to the anime's official Twitter account, the episode will depict the protagonists Shinjūrō and Inga's first encounter. The website also announced that the anime's Noitamina programming block is expanding to 15 stations in the Fuji TV network. This is the largest expansion of the programming block thus far.
In this anime series by director Seiji Mizushima and the studio Bones, Shinjūrō Yūki (Ryo Katsuji) and Inga (Aki Toyosaki) work together to solve mysteries in a near future timeline. The story is based on the works of Ango Sakaguchi (Aoi Bungaku Series' "In the Forest, Under Cherries in Full Bloom"), a post-World War II Japanese novel and essayist.
Mizushima and Bones previously worked together on the first Fullmetal Alchemist anime series. Shō Aikawa (Fullmetal Alchemist, Ghost Slayers Ayashi, Martian Successor Nadesico) is writing the scripts, and pako (Scar-red Rider XechS) and Yun Kouga (Gundam 00, Loveless, Earthian) are handling the character designs.
The Un-Go anime will premiere on October 13.
