Dengeki Bunko Light Novel Series Sales Listed

The publisher ASCII Media Works revealed in a press release that the light novel series Toaru Majutsu no Index has sold 12,300,000 copies under its Dengeki Bunko imprint as of August 10. The 24 volumes of Shakugan no Shana has sold 8 million, while Kino no Tabi's 21 volumes have sold 7 million.
The most recent volume in the Toaru Majutsu no Index series written by Kazuma Kamachi and illustrated by Kiyotaka Haimura was released on that day. Toaru Majutsu no Index light novels sold 9,000,000 copies last summer and quickly passed the 10,000,000-copy mark by October of last year.
Toaru Majutsu no Index has been adapted into two television anime series, two manga, and an original video animation. The first PSP game based on the frachise was released January 27, and another is slated for November 24.
