London Expo Details

The following anime and manga-related events are scheduled at MCM Expo from Friday May 27 to Sunday May 29. The event is at the ExCel Centre, ten minutes from Canary Wharf in the London Docklands.
- Saturday 12 noon: the Anime Industry panel on the Comic/Anime stage, featuring representatives of Manga Entertainment, Anime on Demand, Kazé UK and MVM Films.
- Two voice actor panels, both on the Comic/Anime stage, from 1600-1645 on Saturday and 1430-1515 on Sunday. The anime actors due to appear at London Expo are Ben Diskin, Brian Beacock and Phil Proctor - for more details, see here.
- Diskin and Beacock will be doing signings and photographs at the following times: Saturday 1130-1230 at the Neo stand (728), 1400-1500 at the Manga stand (729); Sunday 1100-1200 at the Neo stand, 1300-1400 at the Manga stand.
- The Euro Cosplay Qualifier contest on Saturday at 1615 in the MCM Theater, followed by the Cosplay Masquerade on Sunday at 1530.
- The British moe singer Beckii Cruel will be appearing at the following times: Saturday 1100 on the Totally Cosplay stage, 1415 on the MCM Fringe stage.
- The Eagle Awards on Friday evening at 1930 will include manga and anime categories.
- After the event on Saturday, fans are planning a 'Cosplay Picnic' at 1800 on the grassy area in front of the ExCel Centre; details here.
The Manga Mega Booth (729) features the VIZ Media book shop, a Manga Cosplay Photo Booth, the Kaze Shop, the Video On Demand display and the Shop Manga UK megastore. Among the titles available will be the early release of the film Eden of the East: King of Eden.
Inside the Mega Booth, Anime on Demand will have special offers for sign-ups (e.g. buy a spring pass and get a summer pass free). Full details here.
Also within the Mega Booth, Kaze will be selling the OST of the new Ghibli film, Arrietty, and the music video CLAMP in Wonderland - Precious Edition. Both are pictured here.
The Manga Anime Sale (358) will sell DVDs from £1.
Manga is also organising 'The Great Otaku Treasure Hunt' on Saturday - treasure maps will be available from the MCM Expo Information Booth, Tecmo Koei Stand and the Manga stands. The hunt involves following the map to find hidden QR codes from your smart phone.
