posted on by Gia Manry
On Monday, the New York Internatonal Children's Film Festival announced via its Twitter account that it would add an extra screening of the Welcome to THE SPACE SHOW anime film to its lineup. The screening will take place on Sunday, March 13 at 10:30 a.m. The schedule already included three screenings of Welcome to THE SPACE SHOW: two on March 12 and one on March 20.
The festival announced its plans to screen the film, along with the anime film Time of Eve, last month. Welcome to THE SPACE SHOW debuted in February 2009 during the Berlin Film Festival, where it screened alongside Mamoru Hosoda's Summer Wars. Directed by Koji Masunari (Read or Die) and animated by A-1 Pictures, Welcome to THE SPACE SHOW is a science-fiction adventure in which four children from rural Japan are stranded in space during summer camp. Aniplex of America has been streaming the first 22 minutes of the movie on its official YouTube channel.
