Amazon Lists The Sacred Blacksmith Manga from Tokyopop (Updated)
posted on by Gia Manry
The online retailer Amazon currently lists an upcoming release of The Sacred Blacksmith (Seiken no Blacksmith) from the publisher Tokyopop with a June 7, 2011 release date. Author Isao Miura and illustrator Luna launched The Sacred Blacksmith fantasy light novel series in 2007, and artist Kōtarō Yamada has been drawing a manga adaptation of the light novels since 2009. Amazon's listing does not specify if Tokyopop's release is for the light novels or the manga.
The series is set in a fantasy world 44 years after a large-scale war devastated the land. Protagonist Cecily Cambell is a knight who meets a mysterious blacksmith, Luke Ainsworth, when he saves her from a crazed war veteran. Cecily asks Luke to forge a sword for her, and thus begin their adventures together.
Media Factory is publishing the 10th light novel volume in Japan this month. The manga adaptation runs in Media Factory's Monthly Comic Alive magazine, and the fourth manga volume shipped in September. In 2009, an anime adaptation of the novel series aired in Japan. Funimation will release the anime on DVD in North America in January.
Tokyopop has not responded to ANN's request for comment as of press time.
