posted on by Egan Loo
The Executive Committees of the Harvey Awards and Baltimore Comic-Con have announced the nominees for the 2010 Harvey Awards. Naoki Urasawa and Takashi Nagasaki's Pluto: Urasawa X Tezuka (Viz Media), Urasawa's 20th Century Boys (Viz Media), The Art of Osamu Tezuka: God of Manga reference book by Helen McCarthy (Abrams ComicArts), and Eric P. Nash's Manga Kamishibai book (Abrams ComicArts) about Japanese papercraft theater earned nominations in the Best American Edition of Foreign Material category. The four books are competing against Emmanuel Guibert, Didier LeFevre, and Frederic Lemercier's The Photographer (First Second).
Unlike the Eisner Awards and other awards in the North American comic book industry, the Harvey Awards are nominated and selected by the comic book professionals themselves. The winners will be announced at Baltimore Comic-Con on August 28.
